From this week, I will be publishing two new blogs a week. As time passes, the frequency will increase as I try to master the art of storytelling through my blog. I want to connect with our previous discussion on relationships, as it may seem like the topic I love to write about. I have some thoughts on what I would bring into the relationship if I did end up in one. Am I financially stable? Maybe not. Am I emotionally stable? I believe I am. Do I make rational decisions when the opportunity arises? Not all the time, but I have a significant number of times. What about intellectual availability? Yes, I am intelligent enough to hold up a deep conversation.

I can also host a stupid conversation that may raise the question of intelligence. Would I date me right now? I think so. I am spontaneous, zealous, ambitious enough, and chill. That’s what you’d expect anyone to say and bra about themselves, but not for me. I would know for sure once I try. But then again, I was engraved with wise words, if you can date yourself, then you can date others.

Does that apply to everyone, or is it a practice you must endeavor to accomplish the goal of dating someone else? We do know of the words of Jesus, love your neighbor as you love yourself. But in the modern era, people hate themselves but say they love their significant other to death. They would sacrifice the world to save them and wouldn’t expect anything in return other than recognition and appreciation. And they are not afraid of showing or telling you that. The thing is, I have not met anyone like that, and if I have, they are already with someone, and boy do they do crazy stuff in the name of love.

But let’s get back to me. Let’s evaluate me and see how long and what I need to accomplish to declare that I am ready to date. It makes me wonder; I was also told that you date as many as you can discover yourself. That contradicts the previous thought of dating someone as if you could date yourself. And also fake it till you make it. Does that mean building a relationship on false pretense and working on yourself till you are your best self? But there is no best self, for there is always room for improvement and growth.

Alright, I am getting out of hand for a little. Let’s break it down step by step and see things clearly. Okay. I want to be in a relationship that would end up in marriage. That is the objective. So for me to do that, I need to be the person my significant other would want. Financial stability, a mild zeal for surprise and adventure, a calm nature, and the ability to pick yourself up when you fall down and gather yourself when mistakes happen. Being at peace with myself, learning from mistakes, and sharing knowledge so that others don’t fall into the same traps of life. So the kind of person I want to be is financially stable, peaceful, and adventurous. Family guy and finally crazy enough to bare.

Stay with me; this will take a while as we grow and go through this process. That is why it’s called Progress Report. And the good thing is that we have the blog twice a week now. A financially stable person would mean security in the matter of income. At the moment, I want to try as many opportunities as I can to see where I will settle down. It may take time, but as they say, a thousand-mile journey starts with a single step. I hope I don’t cover a thousand miles alone. So do I date someone as I am to learn about myself with the little I have? What do you think?
