Sometimes we get angry and frustrated over things that we expect to work. We tend to throw this frustration to anyone and try our level best to get over it. And anyone close to you tends to suffer. At that moment you don’t think of anyone else but yourself. You put yourself at the top of the priority board. All that goes through your mind is me, what has happened to me, how will this affect my lifestyle and such questions are not good. We you put yourself at the top of the priority board you make other people side of the story irrelevant to you. This can cause damage to relationships that the anger is caused from. You should take a step back and look at all the point of view and see if you at the wrong also.

Calming down is the necessary procedure to have an understanding in the dispute because if you let your anger flow, nothing good will come out of your mouth. All the decisions made during the anger moment will never benefit anyone. There have been scenarios in my life where I got really angry and the consequences were just bad. An example of anger and bad consequences in the Bible is the story about the children of David, king of Israel. It happened during the time when David’s sons got into a huge first. In the Book of 1st Samuel 13;1, Amnon brother to Absalom fell in love with his sister Tamar. Tamara was a very beautiful daughter of King David and beloved by many people.

Amnon wanted to have a sexual relationship with the sister but it was and still is a bad thing to do. I repeat it is a bad thing to do. Since Amnon knew it was a bad thing, he decided to do a trick a fall ill. He requested that his sister should serve him some soup and take care of him. The king allowed this request to take place and Amnon to took the advantage. The moment Tamara got in, he tried to seduce her but she refused so due to anger he rapped her, this is the first step to a great disaster. She wept her heart out due to the great pain caused by her own family member, this was heard by her brother Absalom and became first to the response time of the cry of Tamara. Amnon pledged vengeance of his brother and when this reached Amnon, he fled. this is the second consequence, dividend among family member. No one called talk sense into Absalom, not even the king.

Soon after two years after being in the hiding, Amnon was invited by his family member to a party in the palace. Absalom had claimed that he had forgiven his brother and wanted to reunite the family again. the truth was that Absalom together with the other brothers. They had the best cover for this plot. Amnon agreed to go there and when they saw each, well, Absalom played his role very perfectly. No one could suspect. They got him drunk and took him to a dark alley and the servants of Amnon, brothers got onto their horses and fled away. This was the fall of a big house, the royal family was dismantled from within. If anger can take down the royal family of a great king, imagine what it can happen in your life.

And that was not the end of the tragedy, soon after Absalom had fled for the crime he had committed, he came back and it became even worse. He collaborates with someone who intends to break down the leadership of King David. It took long but soon David was overthrown by his own child. then some of the people flee with King David. Now the worst thing is that there was a war between these two parties and at the end, guess what happened to Absalom. HE DIED. That’s right, that was the final consequence of this tragedy.

Now put yourself in this situation of the family and put yourself at the beginning of the situation. If you were Amnon and you were rejected by Tamara, your sister, would you result to violence, and would you let the whole situation take its course of action knowing that they are diabolical. If a job application is denied, don’t go online and put negative stuff about the company, you never know if this decline is a closed window for the big door to be opened. If a girl rejects you, don’t start saying bad things about her, if you love that person, be good. Walk down the park and think it, if you have to let off steam, go to the most remote place you know, shout it out. Cut down a tree but make sure you PLANT TEN TREES, not a request but a condition. Draw a picture, model a sculpture, do something you really love and let your heart be at peace. Let not your anger take control over your life. It is mind over matter, look at the logistics, statistics, analysis and make sure you have the right before making decision.

If that is not a good example, take a look at a decision you made out of sincere anger. Think of the person who caused it and think what would have happened if you took time to think. I am pretty sure that the result would have been more satisfactory and beneficial to all parties. I am not supporting anyone to do bad and make up an excuse to avoid the consequences if you are on the wrong. and if you feel like you can’t hold it within you, go to the person who wronged, tell him that what he did to you was wrong and try to reconcile with the person. You will find peace of mind and heart.
